Michael White

COO and Co-founder

Michael White is COO and co-founder of Nunami. He is responsible for product development, product management, business operations, and business development.

Michael has worked in securities borrowing since 2001, and he conceived of Nunami while running Software Engineering at Pequot Capital. Michael's focus spans the entire borrowing and lending supply chain with the goal of making market-driven improvements to the original Nunami concept in order to deliver a service that is economically superior yet complimentary to traditional processes, operationally simple, low risk, and able to meet customer needs.

Michael was SVP of Software Engineering at Pequot Capital, a $6 billion multinational Hedge Fund, where his team built and maintained all of the systems used to run the business. In time, the Pequot systems became models for system development in the Hedge Fund industry at large. During his years at Pequot, Michael also consulted to Bank of New York on several projects such as flow through automation of a front office system.

Prior to Pequot, Michael was head of system engineering for the financial division of New Era of Networks, including design, technical marketing, and sales support. At New Era of Networks, he grew the Company’s trading system business from $0 to $5 million in two years.

In addition, Michael worked for Goldman Sachs where he designed, developed, and managed the equity trading and sales system used in the Company’s Tokyo, London, and New York offices.

Michael has a B.S. from LaSalle University.

Karen A Steighner

Chief Compliance Officer/General Securities Principal

Karen Steighner is one of the Firm’s two General Securities Principals as well as the Chief Compliance Officer. She has worked in the securities industry in various capacities her entire professional career of 24 years and has extensive experience as a compliance official as well as supervising securities and investment banking activities.

In addition to working for Nunami, Karen is the President and CEO of Compliance Advisers, Inc., a regulatory compliance consulting firm for broker/dealers, investment advisers and investment companies, and she is a registered Financial and Operations Principal for five broker/dealers.

Prior to working at Compliance Advisers, Inc., Karen has acted as a Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Compliance, Taxable Fixed Income Specialist and an Operations Manager. During her career, Ms. Steighner has established and registered new broker/dealers, investment advisers, investment companies, insurance agencies, mortgage companies and telemarketing firms. She holds Series 7, 63, 24, 65 and 27 registrations.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and is working part-time toward an MBA.

James C. Parks

CFO and Co-Founder

James Parks is the CFO for Nunami. He is responsible for financial planning and management for the Company.

Jim held multiple financial, MIS, and operational roles at New Era of Networks and at Sybase after New Era of Networks was acquired. As VP of Finance and Controller at New Era of Networks, he managed all financial accounting and reporting, tax treasury, planning and budgeting, and information systems, from the Company’s inception. He also coordinated both private and public funding, raising $254 million in the public market. AS VP of MIS Applications, he supervised the implementation of PeopleSoft Financials and Human Resources systems and the post-acquisition integration of New Era of Networks and Sybase MIS systems.

For 13 years Jim served as a consultant to many startup technology companies, assisting these firms with accounting and financing, tax, treasury, budgeting, management reporting, and other business services.

Jim has a BA from the University of Northern Colorado and an MBA from the University of Denver.

Bruce Wank

Senior Account Representative

Bruce Wank is responsible for customer operations at Nunami.

Bruce has been in the securities industry since 1992. Prior to working for Nunami he was responsible for securities trading and technology evaluation for First Capital Investments, a regional broker dealer in Denver. In addition, he has worked as a Registered Investment Advisor and for six years he was the editor and publisher of the Daily Action Online, one of the Anthony Robbins Companies.

For three years, Bruce ran Bright Trading in Colorado where he ran day-to-day operations, managed back-office functions between Bright and outside parties such as its clearing firm and the FINRA, and trained new Bright traders.

Bruce was a stock broker for five years.

Bruce has a BS from the University of Colorado.
